Bring the old into the new

Older artwork has its own special character and that demands respect. Mixing a very contemporary frame with an antique piece can be bold and daring but not to everyone’s taste; somehow, it can scrub away the history. But there is a middle ground. A modern variation of a classic moulding, combined with the use of traditional hand-finished methods, can give a new lease of life to a family heirloom or a collectible.
